Brunswick Town Hall & Mechanics Institute Forecourts Upgrade

The Brunswick Townhall & Mechanics Institute Forecourts Upgrade was a part of Moreland City Council’s plan to beautify the heart of Brunswick. It was the final of three projects in this area, all three of which we had the pleasure to construct for Moreland City Council. The other two being the Dawson Street Streetscape Improvements project and the Saxon Lane Upgrade project

The project entailed the beautification of two diagonally opposite corners right in the heart of Brunswick on the corner of
Dawson St/Glenlyon Rd and Sydney Rd.

The Brunswick Town Hall & Mechanics Institute Forecourts Upgrade project involved the following elements of work:

• Paving with a combination of brick, sawn bluestone and asphalt paving
• Drainage upgrade works
• WSUD Raingardens and tree pits
• Custom furniture including a large timber seat/stage structure incorporating coreten features and planting
• Walls clad with reclaimed bluestone pitchers and capped with custom curved sawn bluestone slabs
• Bluestone kerb & channel works
• Custom RGB lighting
• A lush dichondra lawn area
• Fencing works
• Installation of an irrigation system

WINNER - Brunswick Town Hall Precinct won the Australian Institute of Landscape Architecture Victoria Award 2020, which is a prestigious award for landscaping works.
