Mt Aitken Recreation Reserve

Following a public tender process, Evergreen Civil were successfully awarded the contract for the Mt Aitken Recreation Reserve development for Hume City Council. The works were managed through challenging COVID restrictions along with unprecedented weather conditions, but was opened to the public in 2022 and became home to both the Hume City Softball Association and Craigieburn Softball Club.

Spread across 4 hectares of lands, the facilities boast:

• 2 x softball diamonds with sports lighting

• A 16,000m2 Multipurpose turfed sports area

• Nature-play area and nearby fitness station

• Installation of new public toilet facilities

• 3,700m2 of asphalt carpark pavements

• Over 6,000m2 of concrete shared pathways

• Fully enclosed practice nets; and

• Central elevated sports pavilion (others)

With Council soon to commence works on a new play space incorporated into the reserve’s footprint, it will be an incredible facility that the Softball Clubs and broader community will enjoy for years to come.
